Scholarship Fund
The mission of our Scholarship is to award a local student who will help make the planet a better place to live by providing awareness and experience in one of the following fields of study: horticulture, agricultural science, forestry, botany, ecology, environmental science, soil and crop science, natural resource management, land use management, habitat science and green technology. We know the importance of teaching our young people to be aware of these goals and we want to do a small part by helping them on their career path in one of these fields.
Our 2023 Scholarship Award recipient was Samuel Webster who is attending the Syracuse University School of Forestry. This is a public research university focusing on the environment and natural resources. We wish him well as our very first recipient of this award.
This year our Scholarship fundraiser will be a Nothing Bundt Cakes sale. All cakes will be $6.50 each. The order form can be found here for you to print. All your orders and payments must be in by Friday, April 26. Arrangements have been made for you to drop off checks or cash payments and bundt cake orders at the Guilderland Library Westbrook Room on Friday, April 26 between 3 and 6 p.m. Please make a copy of the order form for your records before handing it in. The Library has a copy machine. Please make checks payable to: GUILDERLAND GARDEN CLUB.
The bundtlets will be ready for you to pick up, prior to Mother’s Day, on Thursday, May 9 from 1 -6 p.m. at the Westmere Fire Department, 1741 Western Avenue, Albany, NY. For more information on our 2024 Scholarship, please contact: Ann Trolenberg at: NY_trol@verizon.net.
