In the summer of 2012 we held an Open House and Garden Tour. Our beautiful perennial gardens were colorfully decorated with garden ornaments from Members' gardens and various containers planted by Club Members. The Guilderland Historical Society offered tours of the Frederick House and refreshments were served. Phyllis Rosenblum, Master Gardener, gave a presentation on Container Gardening that was full of great information. We were very pleased that so many visitors stopped by!
In 2012 we also took on a special project as part of the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce 40th Anniversary event, "Three Chairs for Guilderland." Sixty organizations and businesses, including the Garden Club, painted Adirondack chairs in a variety of designs and themes. All 6O chairs were on display throughout the town and then auctioned off, with proceeds benefitting the Guilderland School District. Our chair is placed in the gardens at the Frederick House during the summer months.

Last year, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Guilderland Garden Club, we sponsored an art contest for students in the Farnsworth Middle School to create an original design for the cover of our Anniversary Yearbook. The winning design was created by Anna Brust.
For the past two years we have participated in New York in Bloom at the New York State Museum. This is an annual fundraiser for the Museum's After School Program. For further information, click here.
